About Northern Ascents

We are a family run company based in the NW of England, thank you for taking time to find out more about us. Our base has easy access to some awesome outdoor spaces but we work throughout the whole of the UK.

Our Aim
Our aim is on having fun but in a way that challenges you in a safe way! Getting to the top is only half way!

Who are we?
Led by a qualified and experienced Mountain Leader ML(S) and Rock Climbing Instructor (RCI); verified by MLTA with great deal of varied experience in the UK Mountains and further afield, and a love of the outdoors. Qualified to teach and assess the NNAS award scheme and Outdoor Discovery Award Scheme (for the budding mountaineers). Our Lead is a member of the British Mountaineering Council and Mountain Training Association and also volunteers in their spare time for Cheshire Lowland Search and Rescue (CSAR). We are fully trained in Outdoor First Aid, Enhanced DBS and BMC Safeguarding. Backed up by a home based support team, who are available to support any questions you may have.

What we do?
Does a compass leave you confused or cause nightmares from your geometry classes? Are you an experienced mountaineer but want some formal qualifications? Are you getting ready for ML Assessment and want some challenges? Does the thought of getting hands on rock appeal to you but don't know how to start? Fancy a wild camp?

Rest assured, we can sort that all out for you! Get rid of those concerns and get out there with us. Get in touch with anything you want to try and we can deliver a challenging and rewarding adventure for you or your group. If you want tick list items; like the highest; or get off to some areas where there is low footfall - we will know a place/route.
